Urbastyle supplied bespoke steps and public benches for the renovation of Tour & Taxis site at the hard of Brussels. In the early 2000s, after many years of neglect and disuse, efforts were launched to reinvigorate the prestige of this once noble and historic site. Renovation work of the Tour and Taxis complexes started in 2008. As part for the creation of the new square in front of the Royal Depot complex, Urbastyle was selected to supply public benches and bespoke steps. The public benches, designed by Bureau Bas Smets, were polished in order to provide a smooth and maintenance-friendly surface. The addition of white marble aggregates into the concrete mix results in a very white colour. In order to reach a good slip resistance, the bespoke steps were shot blasted.
