Urbastyle was selected to supply customized platform edges of the Diabolo project at Brussels National Airport.
The Diabolo project provided swift access by rail to Brussels National Airport. The terminal was converted into a through station. The platforms of the modern station with increased capacity were also adapted. Urbastyle was selected to produce and deliver the new customized platform edges. Each platform edge is made with 2 different finishings. The edges in the longitudinal direction have been ground (Fino), the middle part has been shot blasted (Ferro) to provide sufficient sliding resistance. The platform edges have an L-shape so that on the side of the track a 40 cm high vertical edge provides an aesthetic view.
