Photo luminescent slabs - Shopping Centre Dockx, Brussels, BELGIUM

Urbastyle supplied slabs with photoluminescent aggregates and concrete street furniture for the new Shopping Centre Dockx in Brussels.

The Dockx Shopping Centre in Brussels is a transformation of an abandoned industrial site into a new mixed-use, attractive and dynamic district. The project itself is conceived as a neighbourhood with its streets, squares, houses, shops and offices. At the entrance of the Shopping Centre Dockx is a tram stop for which Urbastyle supplied the street furniture. The street furniture is equipped with anti-skate facilities and has a Satin finish. In order to connect the lower zone with the entrance, a wide path was laid with large format slabs in which photoluminescent aggregates have been incorporated. At nightfall, the hundreds of light points on the surface of these photoluminiscent slabs become visible. In order to expose the aggregates, the surface was shot-blasted (Ferro).
